History of the 5K
|
The Anything is PAULssible 5K is held in honor of Paul Detweiler, a Pennridge High School graduate and Gettysburg College student who passed away in the summer of 2013 from a year-long battle with a brain tumor. He made an unforgettable impact on everyone he knew with his one of a kind personality. For those who had the privilege of knowing him, there is a piece of Paul left in all of us. He was an optimistic, genuine, and lovable person who epitomized the beauty in this world.

One of Paul's dreams was to put on a 5K as a service project. In the fall of 2013 his brothers in Alpha Phi Omega - Iota Omicron (a co-ed service fraternity at Gettysburg College) created the Paul Detweiler Memorial Scholarship and the Anything is PAULssible 5K to honor him and his wishes. The first annual Anything is PAULssible took place in the spring of 2014. Since then, the 5K has only been getting bigger and stronger.
